Let's pause our story for a moment to look at some useful phrases from what we just heard.

  • J'ai soif — I'm thirsty. J'ai soif, je voudrais de l'eau.
  • Je me promène — I take a walk. Je me promène dans le parc.
  • un bar à jus — a juice bar. Il y a un nouveau bar à jus ici.
  • le menu affiché — the displayed menu. Je lis le menu affiché.
  • beaucoup de choix — a lot of choices.

Elle me dit: "D'accord.

— It's very hot today.
  • J'ai vraiment soif. — I'm really thirsty.
  • Je voudrais un jus d'ananas. — I would like a pineapple juice.
  • Avec ou sans glace? — With or without ice?
  • Ça fait trois euros cinquante. — That's three euros fifty.
  • J'ai bien choisi! — I chose well!, Bravo!
