Dein Joghurtbecher ist leer. Wohin damit? In den Müll? Aber welchen? Altglas, Plastik oder Restmüll? In Deutschland ist Mülltrennung wichtig. Woher weißt du, was wohin gehört?

Oh, so viel Müll!

Let's take a quick moment to look at some key vocabulary from that first part of our story.

  • trennen — to separate, Ich muss den Müll trennen.
  • der Müll — the trash, So viel Müll!
  • der Joghurtbecher — the yogurt cup, Der Joghurtbecher ist leer.
  • das Altpapier — the waste paper/recycled paper, Die Zeitung gehört zum Altpapier.
  • die Mülleimer — the trash cans, Ich habe verschiedene Mülleimer.

— I have to separate the trash.
  • Die Zeitung ist aus Papier. — The newspaper is made of paper.
  • Der Joghurtbecher ist leer. — The yogurt cup is empty.
  • Er ist aus Plastik. — It is made of plastic.
  • Für Glas gibt es spezielle Glascontainer. — For glass, there are special glass containers.
  • Ich werfe ihn in den Gelben Sack. — I throw it into the yellow bag., Sehr gut!
