Let's pause our story for a moment and look at some useful words and phrases from that first part. These will really help you in your next Italian conversation.

  • commessa — sales assistant (female), La commessa è molto gentile.
  • Posso aiutarLa? — Can I help you? (formal), La commessa mi chiede: "Posso aiutarLa?".
  • comprare — to buy, Voglio comprare nuove crocchette., Perfetto!

Ascolta e ripeti dopo di me.

  • Il mio cane si chiama Leo. — My dog's name is Leo.
  • Vado al negozio di animali. — I go to the pet shop.
  • Vorrei comprare cibo per cani. — I would like to buy dog food.
  • Posso aiutarLa? — Can I help you? (formal)
  • Quanto costa questo sacco? — How much does this bag cost?
  • Grazie mille! — Thank you very much!, Bravissimo! Stai imparando molto bene. Continua così!
