Cosa devo dire? Come posso spiegare cosa succede? Dopo questo episodio, saprai descrivere i sintomi e chiedere aiuto in situazioni inaspettate. Non è fantastico?

Questa mattina mi sono svegliata presto. Il mio bambino, Marco, tossiva. Non era un raffreddore normale. Gli ho misurato la febbre. Trentanove e mezzo! Marco era silenzioso in macchina. C’erano tanti bambini e i loro genitori. Ho preso un numero.

Let's pause our story for a moment and look at some useful Italian from what we just heard.

  • tossiva — he/she was coughing, Il bambino tossiva tutta la notte.
  • misurare la febbre — to take the temperature, Devo misurare la febbre al mio bambino.
  • il pediatra — the pediatrician, Abbiamo chiamato il pediatra.
  • il pronto soccorso — the emergency room, Siamo andati al pronto soccorso.
  • la sala d’attesa — the waiting room, La sala d’attesa era piena., Bene, ora torniamo alla nostra storia per vedere cosa succede dopo in ospedale.

Siamo entrati in una piccola stanza.

— My child is not well.
  • Ha la febbre alta. — He has a high fever.
  • Dobbiamo andare al pronto soccorso. — We need to go to the emergency room.
  • Quali sono i sintomi? — What are the symptoms?
  • L'infermiera ci ha chiamati. — The nurse called us.
  • Ha scritto una ricetta per un medicamento. — He wrote a prescription for a medicine., Fantastico! Avete fatto un ottimo lavoro oggi. Continuate così!
