A recepcionista me olhou e perguntou: “Qual o nome completo da criança? E qual é o convênio médico?” Eu respondi as perguntas e ela me deu uma ficha. “Por favor, preencha esta ficha e aguarde. O consultório é por ali.” Eu peguei a caneta e comecei a escrever, com o coração apertado.

Let’s take a quick moment to look at some useful words and phrases from that story.

  • Febre alta — High fever, Meu filho acordou com febre alta.
  • Dor de garganta — Sore throat, Ele estava reclamando de dor de garganta.
  • Estar preocupado/a — To be worried, Fiquei muito preocupada.
  • Precisar ir — To need to go, Nós precisamos ir ao hospital agora!
  • Recepção — Reception desk, A recepção estava cheia.
