Let's pause our story for a moment to look at some key Italian words and phrases from that first part. - il vivaio — the garden centre, Oggi vado al vivaio. - le piante — the plants, Vedo tante belle piante. - quanto costa? / quanto costano? — how much does it cost? / how much do they cost?, Quanto costa questa rosa? - fiorisce — it flowers/blooms, Questa pianta fiorisce in primavera.

'Grazie a lei!' dico io. Adesso ho tutto. È bello avere nuove piante fresche a casa.

— Today is a beautiful day to go to the garden centre. - Voglio comprare qualcosa per il mio balcone. — I want to buy something for my balcony. - Quanto costano queste rose rosse? — How much do these red roses cost? — I like the smell of mint and basil. - Vorrei comprare delle erbe aromatiche. — I would like to buy some aromatic herbs. - Sono quindici euro. — It's fifteen euros. Fantastico!
